About The Position

The Maintenance position is responsible for supporting the overall appearance, safety, and physical operation of the property. This role performs a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks and administrative duties as required. Works closely with the Property Manager and maintenance team to ensure the community is well maintained and operating efficiently. This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits and paid time off.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years industry experience
  • Must be proficient in all areas of apartment maintenance to include plumbing, electricity, painting, drywall, floor coverings, carpentry, locks, appliances, pools & spas, roofs and life safety equipment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • EPA Certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks for the community as directed by the Property Manager
  • Complete service requests and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems
  • Assist with apartment turnovers, including repairs, inspections, and readiness for occupancy
  • Identify, report, and address potential safety hazards or liability concerns
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire, and life-safety systems
  • Track and maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and materials needed for repairs
  • Work with vendors and contractors as needed for repairs and maintenance services
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Operate within property budgetary guidelines
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned
