In addition to supervising direct reports, this position will also work collaboratively with other supervisors. Growth and development are important aspects of this position. This position will directly supervise 8-10 Maintenance Technicians/Mechanics on 3rd shift. Core hours for 3rd shift are Sunday - Thursday, 9:30pm - 5:30am.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Technical maintenance experience and skill including a strong sense for safety
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong initiative and follow through
  • Strong oral and written communications skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology Management, Operations Management, or similar
  • Experience with troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Prior experience supervising within a Maintenance department
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on refrigeration and/or high-end consumer products.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based PC software as well as AS400 ERP Systems, and MAXIMO

Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises maintenance technicians to achieve established maintenance goals consistent with standards of quality, safety, labor efficiency, and workplace organization.
  • Supports the production activities by maintaining the production equipment and provides assistance to maintain the facility systems.
  • Manages the educational pay program for all maintenance technicians.
  • Partners with manufacturing engineering team to lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Participates in product support teams to improve equipment uptime.
  • Create or check purchase requisitions, makes sure parts are ordered, check status of delivery, and check delivered items.
  • Supports the MRO Stockroom with parts inventory management.
  • Manages applicable budgets for equipment repairs, parts, and supplies.
  • Trouble shoot problems that arise on the production floor throughout the day.
  • Communicates the need for any follow up work to all shifts as required.
  • Prioritize work orders and delegates responsibilities for work orders.
  • Utilizes corporate CMMS program to measure team performance working towards “World Class Maintenance” status.
  • Provides safety training and technical training for the maintenance team in compliance with OSHA and corporate safety program requirements.
  • Provide communication for equipment repair status updates to manufacturing.
  • Coordinates equipment manufacturer representatives to conduct repairs and major PMs.
  • Has daily contact with all employees within assigned area and plant management.
