The Maintenance Team Lead is responsible for directing and coordinating activities concerned with design, construction, and maintenance of equipment and maintenance of facilities. They are also responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the maintenance department, including direct supervision of first line supervisors and professional/support staff. Key Responsibilities include oversight of: Safety for the department and the plant as a whole Management of employees, planning, and budgets Team Development, emphasizing employee involvement and development Technical Responsibilities: Demonstrates a thorough understanding and working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic and engineering processes. Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Thorough working knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and engineering
  • Ability to lead a team to results while considering their input/ideas
  • Basic computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the entire process for manufacturing hardwood veneer or plywood.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts and application
  • Bachelor's degree or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Oregon certification/equivalent as Millwright, Electrician, and/or Electrical Supervisor
  • Prefer familiarity with the entire process for manufacturing hardwood veneer or plywood.
  • Understanding of basic accounting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Available for travel as needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and business associates at all levels, individually or before groups of any size.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Ability to interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
  • Have basic computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and internet use.
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prefer minimum 5 years supervisory and/or management experience.
