Position overview The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing general facility maintenance and repair work throughout the Raw Seafoods manufacturing facility. This position supports building operations, utilities, and general equipment maintenance across all departments. The role focuses on facility upkeep rather than dedicated production line maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of general maintenance or facility maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Ability to operate standard maintenance tools and power tools.
  • Forklift or lift equipment experience preferred (training may be provided).
  • Ability to read and follow basic maintenance instructions and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize maintenance tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic industrial electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with industrial automation systems
  • Basic millwright / mechanical equipment repair
  • Industrial plumbing or facility utility systems
  • Experience maintaining material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors)
  • Experience working in food manufacturing or refrigerated production environments
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems or maintenance software
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience working with Crown material handling equipment
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, or technical drawings

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout the facility.
  • Complete preventative and reactive maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Perform building maintenance including plumbing, lighting, wiring, and structural repairs.
  • Maintain facility equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and material handling equipment.
  • Perform minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work as needed.
  • Inspect building areas to identify safety hazards or repair needs.
  • Document completed maintenance work and report repair needs.
  • Maintain tools and maintenance equipment in safe working condition.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and maintenance initiatives.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation standards required in a seafood manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workspace.
