About The Position

Generation Tux is currently looking for a motivated self-starter to assist a production team at the Louisville Distribution Center (DC). This role is responsible for maintaining facility systems and operational equipment to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, proactive in troubleshooting issues, and committed to maintaining equipment uptime that supports warehouse operations. Generation Tux is an online tuxedo and suit rental platform founded by menswear legend George Zimmer in 2014, delivering high-quality formalwear through a convenient, direct-to-door shipping model.

Requirements

  • 2 years of industrial maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to read a tape measure, power tools and hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial, warehouse, or facilities maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, motors, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to safely operate power tools and hand tools and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond to occasional urgent maintenance needs outside of normal operating hours when equipment failures impact production.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a warehouse, fulfillment, laundry, or light production environment.
  • Experience maintaining light production or garment processing equipment.
  • Forklift or powered industrial equipment certification preferred.
  • OSHA safety certification (e.g., OSHA 10 or OSHA 30) preferred.
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Welding or light fabrication experience.
  • Experience tracking preventative maintenance activities using spreadsheets or maintenance software.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility is in a safe and operable condition at all times.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Manager(s) to ensure proper scheduling for repairs and maintenance to be the least disruptive to production needs.
  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to new standards and best practices for keeping existing and new equipment operable.
  • Maintain and repair warehouse equipment and facility systems according to a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues related to facility systems and light warehouse equipment.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and operational issues in a timely manner to minimize disruption to production.
  • Perform general facility maintenance including lighting repairs, minor electrical work, plumbing fixtures, and general building upkeep.
  • Complete and document preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs to maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Work closely with Warehouse Managers to schedule maintenance activities in ways that minimize disruption to daily operations.
  • Identify potential equipment reliability issues and recommend improvements that increase operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs, inspections, or installations when needed.
  • Maintain an organized maintenance workspace and assist with managing maintenance parts and supply inventory.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures including proper lockout/tagout practices.
  • Demonstrate ownership of equipment uptime and support the operational needs of the warehouse team.
