Requirements

  • HIgh School/Vocational school or technical institute required.
  • Internal applicants must be a Level III Operator or above to apply and pass the Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Series SMT assessment to be considered.
  • 5+ years manufacturing or similar experience is preferred, with an emphasis in mechanics or electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Apply basic hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting skills to maintain equipment reliability and maximize uptime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair unplanned breakdowns of automated and non-automated making, finishing, and utility equipment using computer terminals, control panels, or manual means.
  • Fabricate simple machine parts using shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines.
  • Identify and report potential maintenance issues proactively.
  • Recommend machine modifications and propose preventive maintenance solutions.
  • Accurately and fully complete all regulatory and compliance-related documentation and procedures, highlighting any variances.
  • Understand and adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Quality, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Micro (C&S Guidelines) standards.
  • Undertake daily reporting and updates in information systems (e.g., SAP), including documenting maintenance activities performed on equipment.
  • Report major issues or changes made to the Area Maintenance Planner or Maintenance System personnel.
  • Work collaboratively with others within the same production unit and across other units and support functions.
  • Actively participate in the regular review of team production performance and utilize the information to drive continuous improvement.
  • Seek and apply Continuous Improvement tools and techniques (e.g., Quality Systems, FP&R, Problem-Solving tools) to achieve team goals.
  • Stay informed of the team’s production performance through visual, written, and verbal communications.
  • Contribute to optimizing productivity and meeting the needs of customers and the business by fully utilizing resources.
  • Understand the storeroom parts storage system, including the ability to easily search for and locate parts, and follow correct removal procedures.
  • Maintain the work area according to required housekeeping standards, perform established housekeeping activities, and participate in area housekeeping assessments.
  • Share knowledge, develop maintenance skills with operators, and identify opportunities for skill transfer.
  • Actively participate in continuous learning opportunities.
  • Understand the needs of both internal customers (including Safety, Operations, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, and Finance) and external customers (e.g., other CP plants, customer service,etc.)
