About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. Our company is looking for a qualified Maintenance Technician/Helper to assist with general maintenance and repairs of the building. The role reports to the Chief Building Engineer and will need a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, hands-on maintenance experience, and skills in basic electrical work, light plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, drywall and painting, all while adhering to EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety regulations. Requirements

  • Must successfully pass prescreen process.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • General experience in preventative maintenance is required, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Excellent public relations and communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), painting, drywall, masonry and grounds maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service while interacting with co-workers, property managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Engage in constant movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout shifts.
  • Ensure that mechanical equipment and systems are functioning properly and repaired as needed.
  • Create and manage work orders.
  • Generate and maintain purchase orders.
  • Execute any additional maintenance-related tasks as directed by the Hawaiian Building Maintenance supervisor or property management.
