About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs highly diversified duties including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair of machines, equipment and plant facilities. This includes scheduled, unscheduled or emergency repairs. The Maintenance Technicianalso performs regular preventive maintenance which includes maintaining supporting documentation for the PM’s.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Has completed or is working on a 2-year trades degree and/or 4 years of plant maintenance experience.
  • Able to read, write and speak English. Bilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office Suite and PM system tracking. SAP experience preferred.
  • Standard practices in maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Extensive knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC’s and conveyor systems.
  • Problem solving using defined methodologies.
  • Organization and time management.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
  • HVAC and refrigerant system.
  • Understanding of 3 Phase electrical, three phase motor controls, troubleshooting AC and DC drives.
  • Welding and fabrication.
  • Understand basic PLC operation, programs and troubleshooting.
  • Complete mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and basic electrical system repairs.
  • Take direction from Maintenance Manager and communicate effectively with line workers, Leads, Supervisors and Plant Manager.
  • Issue and receive instructions using known guidelines.
  • Lead 'Best in Class' behaviors with focus on safety, quality, and policies.
  • Maintain harmonious working relations with employees from all departments and with management from all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively and safely operates standard maintenance tools such as power tools, basic hand tools and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work orders ranging from daily needs up to semi-annual PM schedules. Conduct maintenance according to skill level and pursuant to safety policies and procedures.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics in English.
  • Complete minor troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical related issues without direct supervision. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts; test and make-adjustments.
  • Detect, document, repair and/or replace improper machine operation, defective material, and faulty equipment. Report unusual situations to the facility maintenance manager.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulation as well as other departmental policies and procedures. Help to develop proper safety techniques.
  • Understand and certify in our LOTO program.
  • Follow and perform emergency procedures regarding power failures.
  • Diversify maintenance skills that will allow assignments to be given, in any work area and on any shift, as required.
  • Effectively inform through written communication daily pass-downs issues and actions.
  • Utilizing Microsoft Office, order and schedule parts as well as jobs.
  • Perform work in a safe manner and use Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
