About The Position

General Summary:Performs plumbing work including installing, maintaining, and
repairing plumbing and heating systems.Essential Duties:

Installs new plumbing including pipes, valves, drains, basins, faucets,
lavatories, sinks, drinking fountains, hot water heaters, and a variety of other
plumbing fixtures and equipment;

Repairs plumbing systems including pipelines;

Repairs chilled and heated water systems;

Repairs various appliances including laundry and kitchen equipment;

Reads and interprets blueprints and written instructions;

Provides assistance to building maintenance as needed;

And confers with supervisor concerning construction, alteration, maintenance,
and repair projects.

Other Duties as assigned.

Supervision Received:From DirectorGiven:This is a non-supervisory position.

Requirements

• High school graduation or its equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• At least three years of experience.
• Texas Journeyman Plumber's license.
• Methods, practices, and equipment used in cooling and heating systems installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Safe operation of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and written instructions
• Operate electrical and plumbing equipment
• Apply safety standards to prevent hazards
• Estimate time and materials for projects
• Communicate effectively
• Tolerate adverse working conditions
• Work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers.
