The Port of Skagit is seeking a mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician II to join our facilities and maintenance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys diagnosing mechanical issues, working with equipment, and performing hands-on repairs that keep operations running smoothly. We are especially interested in candidates with strong mechanical aptitude or mechanic-apprentice experience, including troubleshooting equipment, performing small engine repairs, and working with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. What You’ll Do As a Maintenance Technician II, you will perform a wide range of maintenance and repair work on Port facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Responsibilities may include diagnosing equipment issues, performing mechanical repairs, maintaining small engines and equipment, and assisting with preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. Work may involve troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment, assisting with building and grounds maintenance, and supporting facility improvements across Port properties including the airport, marina, and business parks. You will also track work performed in the Port’s maintenance system and collaborate with other maintenance staff on complex repairs and projects.
