About the position

The Maintenance Technician position at Clarios in San Antonio, Texas, involves working in a distribution center that charges, packages, and ships batteries for various vehicles. The role emphasizes safe work practices and adherence to safety guidelines, including LOTO procedures and the use of PPE. Technicians will troubleshoot and repair machinery, conveyors, and robotics, diagnose problems, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure maximum equipment functionality. The position operates on a night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7 AM, with a 2/2/3 work schedule allowing for every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off.

Responsibilities

  • Emphasize safe work practices, adherence to LOTO procedures and use of PPE.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery, conveyors, and robotics.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Have knowledge of 120, 208, and 480 VAC circuits.
  • Experience with conveyors, electronics, PLC hardware and ladder logic required.
  • Understand motor control circuitry (VFDs, soft starts etc.) required.
  • Set up and operate machines such as lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, power saws, etc.
  • Read schematics and blueprints.
  • Perform mechanical skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to assure maximum equipment functionality.
  • Adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical and electrical repair knowledge.
  • Working experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical (480v), and preventive maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Nice-to-haves

  • PLC troubleshooting experience preferred but is not a requirement.
