Maintenance Technician Working at our Dayton site: TDI has been leading design and manufacturer of turbine powered start systems for 40+ years and designer of turbine air motors for over 60 years. The TDI site in Dayton, OH is a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company. Unison is uniquely positioned to introduce the next-gen Air Turbine Starter for the CMF56-7B fleet. At the TDI site, Unison also produces Surface Coolers and Bellows to support the aerospace industry. Role Overview: Perform general maintenance support under minimal supervision, support daily operations, facility infrastructure and projects. CNC machine control troubleshooting and repair. Support lean activities, construction projects, hazardous waste management and energy conservation programs/projects. Possess general knowledge and understanding of Company policies and procedures and be able to apply Environmental, Health and Safety processes to daily assigned tasks and projects. Performs general labor throughout the facility and preventive maintenance tasks Troubleshoots and repairs equipment Performs preventative maintenance to ensure that building and manufacturing operations equipment continue to operate in a safe and effective manner while moving towards the goal of “no unplanned downtime” Suggests upgrades/retrofits for greater reliability and efficiency Must be able to read wiring diagrams and be able to wire 110V, 220V, and 480V circuitssingle and three phase; good understanding of control circuits Processes work orders Maintain spare parts inventory and supplies as needed to control machine down time Performs equipment checks and manage outside services Responsible for safe chemical and hazardous waste handling Responds to emergency situations: turns off equipment or utilities as required and initiates clean up or containment actions on hazardous materials as appropriate by certification Recommends program and preventative maintenance improvements to enhance building and facility system reliability Repairs all machinery within the facility Recognizes when a possible breakage of machine parts could occur during disassembly and will seek assistance with other technicians and drawings to determine the best way to disassemble the component safely Able to install and maintain tubing and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs or replaces gauges, valves, pumps, and related components Able to communicate to leadership in a reasonable amount of time the machine problem and suggest some possible completion times Operates forklift, scissor lift, aerial lift as needed Must be able to work overtime and on occasion may be called during off hours or weekends to support emergency situations Maintenance: Last Revised 5/15/18 On occasion may require guidance for contractors and/or Non-GE purchased service providers Must have a strong background in electronics and be able to use test equipment such as oscilloscope and other digital test equipment May be required to install or repair automated machinery and equipment such as tool changers or programmable controllers Ability to read electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic blueprints & schematics to assist in troubleshooting and repairing machine tools Read and Interpret machine tool ladder within the CNC control and printouts to assist in troubleshooting Have a good basic knowledge in CNC part programming Ability to use the MDI function on CNC machines to assist in troubleshooting Ability to design, install and test electrical and or electronic circuits on CNC and conventional machines for safe operation by qualified personnel Ability to Inspect parts to determine if they should be replaced or reworked and able to find part numbers for ordering and expediting repairs Installs and Inspects 3 phase AC motors, DC motors and know when they are in need of repair Basic knowledge of Programmable Logic controllers (PLCs) and Electronic Controllers and programming language Knowledge to replace printed circuit boards, servo drives, and power supplies Ability to set jumpers or parameters in these devices Plans and schedules maintenance activities not to interrupt normal production as necessary May train other maintenance workers in proper technique and procedures May install or repair automated machinery and equipment such as tool changers or programmable controllers Work to established Lean Manufacturing guidelines Comply to all safety policies and procedures such as LOTO, Arc Flash, etc. Work under general direction with minimal coaching in a team environment Will also perform other duties and special projects as assigned
