Job Responsibilities: JOB SUMMARY: Performs preventive and general maintenance on plant and production equipment on a routine and emergency basis.

Requirements

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, update, and work on all equipment in designated area of responsibility.
  • Must have current knowledge of electrical codes and electricity and be able to apply it to the job.
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills to communicate with and work in a team environment.
  • Machine rebuilding and mechanical knowledge including electrical required.
  • Knowledge of S.C. OSHA standards and various industrial building/construction codes.
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLCs and PCs.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to Five years of manufacturing maintenance experience required (Automotive Tier 1 experience preferred).
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Must maintain proper vision requirements
  • Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings.
  • Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have working knowledge of English

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical or Electrical technician certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and Repair all electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems on machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment
  • Diagnose malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Preforms Safety Audits on regular basis
  • Perform LOTO on all equipment.
  • Maintains Work Orders and PM records on all equipment as assigned.
  • Directs contractors and insures Safety procedures and adhered too.
  • Orders required parts for projects and completes Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts in MRO area.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and procedures
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Maintains Downtime logs and change logs
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities.
  • Participates in Health and Safety and Ergonomics committees.
  • Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.
  • Cooperate with OSHA MIOSHA inspectors.
  • Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.
  • Will not remove or make ineffective any protective device such as a guard, light curtain, etc.
  • Will not use or operate any machine or equipment that the employee is not trained to operate.
  • Will not use or operate any machine or equipment in a manner that may endanger any employee including themselves.
  • Understand your responsibility for health and safety in the workplace.
  • Provide an employee with written instructions of the measures and procedures required to protect the employee.
  • Advise the employee of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health or safety of the employee of which the supervisor is aware.
  • Understand your responsibility for visitors and general public health and safety in the workplace.
  • Cooperate with OSHA inspectors.
  • Do not allow discrimination against employees who properly exercise their right under OSHA.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment to set a good example.
  • Ensure that employees wear the appropriate protective devices.
  • Know the safety rules at Magna – Greer.
  • Understand your responsibility to the environmental programs, including ISO14001.
  • Understand the importance of conformance with all environmental procedures of the environmental management system, including emergency response.
  • Understand the EMS consequences, actual or potential, of their work activities and/or their behaviors from specified work instructions.
