About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for up-keeping and maintaining repairs of the agencies buildings, vehicles, grounds and equipment, and other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in maintenance or related field.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver license
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in maintenance related work
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team;
  • Must have good written and verbal skills;
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Complete work orders and process them.
  • Work cooperatively with staff to schedule and complete repairs.
  • Inspect all buildings and facilities and initiate repairs as needed.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
  • Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.
  • Conduct regular inventory of physical equipment and supplies and maintain accurate records.
  • Order tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed.
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and identify items needing repair or replacement.
  • Complete special projects as directed by the facilities director
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for the general maintenance and repairs of the agency’s buildings. This includes, but is not limited to, painting, light fixtures, minor plumbing and carpentry.
  • Responsible for the inspection of our fleet of vehicles, and keeping the stickers current.
  • Other than areas maintained by independent contractors, is responsible for ground maintenance.
  • Move furniture and office equipment as requested
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.
  • As a Seton Home employee, attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position. The inability to meet this requirement will conclude employment with the Agency.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director, Sr. Director or other Leadership Member.
