About The Position

This is a skilled maintenance and repair work position in the building, mechanical or electrical trades. This employee works in a variety of trades at the sub-journeyman level in the maintenance and repair of Authority buildings and equipment. Work involves repair jobs of a routine nature which are carried out with only general supervision.

Requirements

Two years experience in general maintenance.
Must have a valid Alabama drivers license.
Ability to make mechanical repairs to HVAC Systems, certification preferred.
Knowledge of building materials, supplies and vendors of same.
Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes.
Ability to paint and do minor carpentry work.
Basic computer knowledge is required.
Ability to establish effective working relationship with other staff and agencies.
Ability to communicate clearly, orally, and in writing.

Responsibilities

Implements the general maintenance of, and repairs to, assigned properties and equipment, including but not limited to painting and pressure washing.
Responsible for the maintenance of, and repairs to all heating and air condition systems.
Assist in moving furniture for office or home moves, when needed.

Assist in delivery of supplies and putting furniture together, as needed.
General housekeeping duties.
Responsible for implementing the preventative maintenance schedule.
Assist with van/vehicle service requests, when needed.
Maintains maintenance records and service reports.
Responsible for his own time management, travel, planning and record keeping.
Emergency services and special projects as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
