About The Position
Belles Beach House is a vibrant, Hawaiian-inspired restaurant and bar just steps from the sand in Venice Beach. Known for warm hospitality, lively energy, and a laid-back yet elevated dining experience, we are seeking a confident, guest-focused Maître D’ to be the face of our dining room. This role is ideal for someone with strong presence, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage the flow of a busy, high-volume restaurant while making every guest feel welcome.
Requirements
- Prior Maître D’ or senior Host experience in a high-volume restaurant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to command the room with calm confidence
- Excellent organization and multitasking abilities
- Experience with reservation systems preferred
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first and last point of contact for guests, setting the tone for the dining experience
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, waitlists, and table flow
- Communicate wait times clearly and professionally
- Coordinate closely with management, servers, and the bar to maintain smooth service
- Handle guest concerns with warmth, confidence, and urgency
- Maintain a polished, organized host stand and entryway
- Support special events, VIP guests, and large parties
- Uphold service standards and contribute to a positive team culture
