About The Position
Performs mammography examinations and related breast special procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. Responsiblefor mentoring and training students in a cooperative learning environment.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalency plus formal radiologic technology training at an AMA approved school
- State license, ARRT, and Certification in Mammography required
- BLS certification required
- Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team

Responsibilities
- Prepares patient for examination.
- Utilizes correct positioning techniques and recognizes need for special views.
- Utilizes special knowledge and skills to produce mammograms of optimal diagnostic quality with minimal radiation exposure to patients.
- Utilizes special knowledge and skills to perform Bone Densitometry with precision and accuracy.
- Utilizes special knowledge and skills to perform breast special procedures with minimal radiation exposure to patient and maintaining proper sterile technique.
- Maintains quality control and quality assurance for mammography according to established standards including monitoring all other mammography technologists' credentials.
