Summary\: The Mammography Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic mammographic procedures in hospital, clinic or mobile van sites, according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. Operates digital mammography equipment and performs procedures by positioning patients, preparing contrast medias, and selecting the correct exposure factors utilizing the assessment of patient age, pathology and diagnosis to produce technically accurate digital and or analog images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis. Performs breast biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, needle localization, RFID tag placement, Bone Densitometry, and assist with MRI biopsies as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiography program
  • State of Connecticut Radiographer license
  • ARRT certification in Radiography required

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year of Mammography experience and 6 months experience in a hospital setting strongly preffered
