Manager, Application Engineering This is a great opportunity for an exceptionally talented individual with a strong technical acumen, leadership skills, and a passion to support prospects, customers, partners, and internal sales staff in understanding how Markforged products can reinvent manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of management experience in a fast paced environment, and a passion for leadership and development of individual contributors.
  • 3+ years of technical pre-sales experience, either in a SaaS environment or with industrial / capital expense equipment.
  • Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and technical pre-sales on track.
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in an aggressive timeline-driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% (Domestic).

Responsibilities

  • The success of Application Engineering in the Americas, through leadership of 4-8 Commercial Application Engineers and 1-2 Associate Application Engineers.
  • Develop and further the strategy of effective use of Application Engineers, prioritizing technical pre-sales, channel enablement, technical marketing and content generation, and/or internal value-add in order to most effectively drive business growth.
  • Breed technical pre-sales skills and acumen within Application Engineering, in areas such as effective presentation skills, best practices for working on a pre-sales team, and achieving the technical win.
  • Identify and develop channel enablement assets in conjunction with the Channel Enablement team, and strengthen channel partners through training, ad-hoc support, and co-lead engagement with prospects and customers.
  • Establish metrics and KPIs to identify which Application Engineering team actions have the biggest impact on bottom-line and top-line growth for Markforged.
