Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers. Essential Function: This position supports the Category Marketing function to ensure the strategic development and effective integration of marketing plans to support Sally Beauty business. This is a hybrid role reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West in Plano Texas

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing or advertising or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years of experience in an agency environment or corporate brand marketing/strategy
  • Experience leveraging primary research, data and consumer insights into actionable business initiatives
  • Experience working in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Knowledge of the marketing laws of growth and marketing effectiveness tenets and principles
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and quickly react to changing business needs while meeting firm deadlines
  • Strategic thinking and leadership skills
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills
  • Working knowledge of developing and executing marketing plans across multiple channels
  • Ability to understand and evaluate (not analyze) meaningful marketing metrics, marketing effectiveness and competitive trends

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders (data analytics, insights, merchandising)/relevant business partners to gather the appropriate insights to develop evidence-based strategies to grow and sustain the business. Attend key meetings/calls to stay informed and up-to-date on business, category and merchandising goals and priorities. Gain buy-in and approval from Directors and leadership and socialize strategies across teams and channels.
  • Integration: Develop project briefs, lead channel briefings and oversee the implementation of channel activation plans to support the overall business and brand strategy, key strategic initiatives and monthly promotional activity.
  • Day-to-Day Project Management: Drive projects, programs and vendor/brand relationships. Execute projects against timelines, track performance of co-op partnerships to ensure successful implementation of marketing toolkit activation; ensure projects, briefs and activations are submitted in cadence with the production timeline. Support change forms (Sally and/or BSG). Support key team members.
  • Research/Consumer Insights: Responsible for ongoing development of internal insights repository. Be an expert on the consumer (both from secondary insights and internal/primary insights) and translate it into actionable recommendations.
