The role will be responsible for planning and executing sales targets and activities for Aftermarket services, in order to increase sales with all kinds of potential customers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of freight and locomotive brake products and systems, AAR, FRA regulations, requirements, and related publications.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Analytical Thinking - Ability to collect, analyze, and structure information effectively and efficiently.
  • Communication Skills - Comprises the ability to speak, present, write, listen, and distribute information effectively and create an environment for open communication.
  • Customer Orientation - Ability to maintain an internal and external professional network to satisfy customer needs.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility - Work successfully in various, complex, changing and challenging environments with a diverse group of people.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5-7+ years of directly relevant experience in the Rail industry

Responsibilities

  • Identify, organize, and prioritize new target accounts to meet strategic business initiatives. Potential accounts include Short line Railroads, distributors, repair centers, etc.
  • Develop and maintain customer accounts through regular personal visits, as well as telephone and written correspondence. Establish professional and personal relationships with key decision makers at each account.
  • Assist in creating customer quotations, compiling historical sales data and trends, customer service, and sales forecasting.
  • Actively promote and facilitate the negotiation and presentation of proposals, receipt of purchases, orders and thereafter assist the customer with expediting activity in cooperation with NYAB, Anchor Brake Shoe, and Snyder Equipment.
  • Coordinate communication and visitation activity including NYAB Marketing, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Field Service departments at responsible customer accounts.
  • Update and maintain small customer price lists to be distributed on a regular basis.
  • Work with Customer Service group to ensure updated pricing is maintained in SAP.
  • Identify and track new product opportunities for NYAB, Anchor Brake Shoe, and Snyder Equipment.
  • Lead or assist special projects to aid in advancement or efficiency of the Rail Service group operations.
  • Periodically review overall customer order activity, to identify accounts which may have decreased in order activity and develop corrective action plans.
  • Assist in resolving open customer issues including past due payments, or material delivery concerns.
  • Provide customers with technical bulletins, catalogs, price lists, etc. as available.
  • Must understand and support all Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental/Energy policies.
  • Must understand and adhere to all relevant statutory or regulatory compliance obligations.
  • Must understand, support and adhere to the Integrated Management System policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Must understand and support relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), as defined in the goal tree.
