About The Position

The Manager, Business Strategy for Walmart Imports owns benchmarking activities for the org. They will research both traditional and non-traditional seller alternatives for cross border shipping, normalize the data to generate insights as to seller needs and priorities, and work to understand how the industry has adapted and to prioritized meeting those shipper needs. The work of this individual will provide critical voice of seller and voice of industry input to program and product roadmaps, and tech/operational priorities. This role involves engaging with leaders across Marketplace, Global Transportation Logistics, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Voice of Seller, and others to develop, align, and articulate strategic points of view based on past, present, and future market movements. The Manager, Business Strategy, will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop recommendations to senior leadership for continued growth and improvement of our program. Day in the life: Benchmark best-in-class seller alternatives to the Walmart Imports offering, overall and within each service and ship mode Collaborate directly with program and strategy leaders to develop and refine the organization's strategic goals and objectives Represent Marketplace supply chain team in cross functional forums ensuring MP organization requirements are known & aligned Develop mechanisms to capture and maintain market landscape information to inform and educate internal stakeholders of both current and projected market conditions. Provide input to annual and long-range planning to ensure Walmart Imports remains a market leader. Lead by example and drive continuous improvement of the benchmarking processes, including annual goal setting, performance monitoring, and strategic initiatives. Work with key product and program leads to set the roadmap to incorporate benchmarking data with clear entitlement for launches to optimize engagement, utilization, and penetration to reach business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 3 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or relevant area OR 5 years’ experience in retail merchandising, operations management, or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, economics, finance, or related disciplines. An MBA is highly desirable.
  • Experience (2-5 years) in research, strategy and/or business consulting is highly desirable.
  • Experience in eCommerce, online Marketplaces (ideally in transportation, compliance, or supply chain functions) is highly desirable. This includes experience both building in a high growth environment as well as successfully executing in a multi-billion dollar globally scaled enterprise.
  • Strong data analytics skills, including SQL writing and/or AI prompting.
  • Exceptional communication, written and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts on behalf of business partners and to senior executives in presentation & white paper form
