Manager, Solution Engineering (Commercial) Location: United States (Remote) How You’ll Make an Impact Our Commercial field sales professionals—including Account Executives and Account Managers—rely on proactive technical support during the sales process, and our team of Solution Engineers (SEs) is there to lead the charge. At Boomi, our SEs follow a prescriptive technical sales cycle and engagement model, with a relentless focus on effectiveness and efficiency across our core "Majors": Integration (iPaaS), API Management, Data Management, AI, and Platform Engineering. We view our SE team as far more than just a technical resource; they are strategic partners throughout the sales journey, building deep trust with stakeholders and prospects. As a Solution Engineering leader supporting the Commercial business, you will direct a team of SEs to achieve the "technical win" through collaborative discovery, strategic win-plans, and dynamic presentations that showcase the full power of the Boomi platform. Requirements

  • Leadership Experience: 2+ years of relevant leadership experience (managing people or leading high-impact project teams).
  • Presales Expertise: A strong understanding of sales and presales methodologies (e.g., Command of the Message, Value Selling).
  • Technical Aptitude: The ability to align complex technical features across the Boomi pillars (iPaaS, API Management, AI, Data Management, and Platform Engineering) to tangible business value and ROI.
  • Motivational Leadership: A passion for mentoring and the professional development of others, with a proven ability to inspire a team toward a common goal.
  • Analytical Thinking: Excellent procedural thinking skills with the ability to design and optimize business processes for a high-velocity sales environment.
  • Customer-Facing Excellence: Exceptional soft skills and a track record of success in client-facing roles where you have demonstrated technical authority and built executive-level trust.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Experience: 3+ years of leadership experience within solution engineering, services, training, or other client-facing work in the software/technology space (iPaaS or PaaS preferred).
  • Field Experience: Previous experience working directly as a Solution Engineer or related role.
  • Boomi Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Boomi platform and the competitive landscape across all five technical "Majors."

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Direct your SE team's efforts to achieve strategic and operational objectives. You will focus heavily on net-new logo acquisition, specifically on ways to reduce the total time and cost to acquire customers in the Commercial segment.
  • Talent Development: Manage the hiring, staffing, and professional growth of a diverse, high-performing workforce. You will lead career development planning, performance coaching, and pay discussions to build the next generation of Boomi leadership.
  • Sales Cycle Management: Demonstrate crisp, practical sales management skills. You will partner with Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) to discuss pipeline health, remediate deal-level concerns, and provide your team with actionable guidance to navigate unique customer scenarios.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary interface between the Commercial team and our specialized "Majors" technical teams (AI, API, Platform, etc.), ensuring that deep-dive technical resources are deployed effectively to close complex deals.
  • Communication & Influence: Act as a key bridge between your team and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). You will gather field feedback and incorporate it into clear, influential communications that drive change across the organization.
  • Modern Tooling & Coaching: Leverage a modern tech stack—including Gong for call coaching and team upleveling, and Consensus for managing a library of automated demos and customer-facing assets—to drive efficiency and scale.
