Manager, Core Accounting at a Glance…. This role reports to the Associate Director, Core Accounting, and will lead local and offshore teams performing general accounting for Kraft Heinz North American legal entities. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, payroll, abandoned property, legal, Kraft Heinz Not Co, Ethical Bean, and accounts payable. Manager will have integral responsibilities during the month-end closing and will manage the overall monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles for the respective areas. The role will ensure controls are followed throughout each process through critical journal entries, balance sheet analysis, account reconciliations, and other reporting. In addition to these core responsibilities, this role will research, develop, and implement focused plans to leverage automation and process improvement activities. Manager may also be required to lead other ad hoc requests or projects that vary depending on the strategic direction of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting; advanced degree and/or CPA a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years accounting experience, including public accounting
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
  • Ability to effectively lead, manage and prioritize multiple projects, while effectively operating in a fast-paced, complex global organization
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict management skills
  • Excellent analytical, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close process through assessments, journal entry review and posting, balance sheet analysis, and reconciliation review
  • Collaborate with key internal business partners including GBS, Finance, Treasury, Tax, IT, Legal, and other Controllership groups to support accounting needs throughout the year
  • Liaise with third-party admin for unclaimed property compliance and recovery services
  • Develop accounting processes by driving partnerships across various teams to streamline the recording and reporting needed for accurate monthly financial results
  • Research, analyze and develop opportunities to automate current processes leveraging both internal and external system options to create greater efficiencies and allow for access to increased levels of data to be used for analysis
  • Identify areas outside the Controllership that currently perform general accounting activities and develop a process to transition the work to an automated state, into the Controllership or outsource to support staff analyst teams
  • Research technical accounting matters as needed to determine the appropriate recording and reporting of transactions within the North American zone
  • Provide support for financial audits including internal, external, and SOX for the company
