About The Position

Latrobe Specialty Metals Distribution (LSD) – located in Vienna, Ohio is part of the Carpenter Technology Corporation organization, serves North America’s tooling customers with the broadest range of products, the most extensive value-added services, and unmatched metallurgical expertise in the industry. With locations in the US and Canada, LSD inventories more than 60 specialty alloys for some of the most demanding applications. Extensive value-added capabilities include production sawing, CNC high-speed precision sawing, CNC lathe turning, milling, grinding, heat treating, and hollow boring. Manager, Customer Service PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANAGER, CUSTOMER SERVICE Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical or production team. Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors. Make decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receive guidance and oversight from manager. Ensures a safe workplace. Promotes ways to improve the quality of life and protect the environment in the communities in which the Company does business. Accountable for the performance of a shift, team or unit. Applies management expertise to improve efficiency and accomplish operational objectives within own area of responsibility or department. Sets priorities for employees to meet daily deadlines; develops plans to meet short-term objectives. Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgement. Works within budgetary/financial objectives set by manager. Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree required
  • Three or more years of experience
  • Knowledge of business-to-business customer service principles, standards, methods and practices, of effective problem-solving methods, and of positive employee relations practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; sets high expectations for performance.
  • Motivation to do what is best for our customers and our business.
  • Proven commitment to operational and customer service excellence.
