We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for enabling and evolving Resmed’s Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) platform . In this role, you will partner closely with application teams to design, implement, and operate customer identity solutions that are secure, reliable, and easy to adopt at scale. This role sits within ResMed’s Digital Platform Engineering (DPE) group at the intersection of platform engineering, security, and developer experience, and is critical to how we build trusted digital experiences for customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proven experience managing software engineering teams
  • Experience working with enterprise identity platforms such as Okta or equivalent CIAM or IAM solutions
  • Strong understanding of CIAM concepts and identity standards including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM
  • Demonstrated experience delivering customer-facing identity or security-sensitive platforms
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and security concepts to diverse audiences
  • Experience leading teams responsible for production systems with high availability, security, and reliability requirements
  • Ability to partner effectively with application teams, security, architecture, and product stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers delivering CIAM platform capabilities and application integrations
  • Own delivery of CIAM solutions built on industry-standard identity protocols including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, and SCIM
  • Foster a high-performing, engineering-first culture focused on quality, security, and ownership
  • Own team delivery, outcomes, and operational health
  • Balance roadmap-driven platform work with intake and engagement from application teams
  • Act as a primary engineering partner to application teams implementing CIAM solutions
  • Guide teams through CIAM adoption patterns, best practices, and architectural tradeoffs
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Security, Architecture, Privacy, and Compliance partners
  • Provide technical oversight for CIAM solutions built using modern web and backend technologies including React, Java, MongoDB, and Redis
  • Lead teams building and operating cloud-native services hosted by Amazon Web Services, favoring an Amazon EKS deployment approach
  • Lead teams integrating and extending enterprise identity platforms such as Okta or equivalent CIAM or IAM solutions
  • Participate in design reviews and promote reuse through shared patterns, libraries, and documentation
  • Ensure CIAM services meet standards for scalability, availability, security, and privacy
  • Support operational excellence through monitoring, incident response, and continuous improvement
  • Communicate clearly when risks, dependencies, or delivery challenges arise
  • May participate in an on-call support rotation
