The ideal candidate will have 3-6+ years of Digital Product Management experience, preferably in Omnichannel, eCommerce, Order Management, or Digital, along with 1-4+ years of management experience in Product Management or the digital industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the holistic vision of multiple Product Managers, including coaching on organization, presentation, and prioritization.
  • Leverage digital capabilities and customer insights to serve our customers and drive sales.
  • Identify, prioritize, and analyze the largest digital opportunities, working with your team members to capitalize on identified opportunities.
  • Participate in business reviews, communicate, and present across all levels of the organization and support cross-functional product teams.
  • Help your team members generate new ideas for growth and problem solving.
  • Monitor and coach team members on how to lead agile scrum teams effectively and efficiently, including adjusting or creating new processes when needed.
  • Deliver sales and profitability for Academy.com and Academy Sports + Outdoors Overall Business.
  • Create a cross-functional environment for team members that champion relationships with stakeholders to promote collaboration and enterprise-wide alignment.
  • Review and provide feedback on team member-prepared business cases.
  • Foster and provide feedback on the critical thinking skills of your team members.
  • Develop and manage roadmap, balancing quick wins and platform investments for maximum impact in the least amount of time.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs for opportunities to innovate and improve and provide KPI guidance for each new reporting year.
  • Partner with other PDMs and cross-functional teams to maximize revenue and customer experience opportunities.
  • Take part in RFPs, vendor selection, and vendor contracts.
  • Partner with the Quality assurance team and User Acceptance Testers to ensure the delivered product meets the business objectives and launch criteria.
  • Organize and present your team’s past, present, and future work to leadership weekly.
  • Review pre/post-launch analysis to measure and report on product performance metrics.
  • Be a team player and support your team members.
  • Perform your job responsibilities with moderate guidance from your manager.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules.
  • Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience required.
  • 3-6+ years of Digital Product Management experience, preferably in Omnichannel, eCommerce, Order Management, or Digital.
  • 1-4+ years of management experience (direct reports) in Product Management or digital industry.
  • Ability to create an entrepreneurial environment for team members; champions new ideas leveraging insights and metrics.
  • Ability to mentor direct reports to have the confidence and knowledge to successfully own the product and deliver results.
  • Ability to keep team members organized, paying strict attention to detail, and meeting critical deadlines within a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills: effective at presenting, pitching, and influencing outcomes that move the business forward.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize objectives.
  • Deep technical understanding with the ability to communicate effectively with engineers and understand technical tradeoffs.
  • Ability to resolve Production issues while prioritizing resolution without assistance and communicate to Stakeholders.
  • Experience in JIRA or similar tools preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and principles.
  • Experience in Data analytics tools.
