About The Position

The Raw Materials Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory, procurement, and movement of raw materials—primarily egg cartons and packaging materials—within the egg packing facility. This role ensures the right materials are available to support production and meet customer demand while maintaining efficient inventory levels and strong supplier relationships. This position also supervises the raw materials warehouse team, ensuring cartons and packaging materials are properly received, organized, and staged to support daily operations. The Raw Materials Manager works closely with supply, production, quality, and sales teams to maintain a reliable and cost-effective packaging supply chain. This role supports a high-volume egg packing operation and plays a key part in keeping production running efficiently.

Requirements

Experience in inventory management, procurement, or raw materials coordination, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
Supervisory or team leadership experience, ideally in a warehouse or supply environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills with a high attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for inventory tracking, analysis, and forecasting support.
Experience working with inventory management systems or ERP platforms.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across departments.

Experience in the food manufacturing or egg industry.
Familiarity with packaging standards or food safety requirements.
Experience using ERP systems or automated inventory management tools.

Responsibilities

Manage inventory levels of egg cartons and packaging materials to support production schedules and customer orders.
Place and manage orders for cartons and related raw materials while coordinating closely with suppliers.
Track shipments, coordinate deliveries, and ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in inventory systems.
Lead and supervise the raw materials warehouse team (4–6 employees) responsible for receiving, organizing, handling, and staging cartons and packaging materials.
Oversee the receiving process for all raw materials shipments, ensuring materials are inspected, documented, and properly entered into the inventory system.
Maintain an organized raw materials storage area to support efficient warehouse and production operations.
Perform regular physical inventories and reconcile counts with system records while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Work with vendors to ensure reliable deliveries, competitive pricing, and consistent supply.
Maintain strong supplier relationships and regularly evaluate vendor performance.
Implement quality checks to ensure incoming cartons meet packaging and production standards.
Partner with the Quality Control team to ensure packaging complies with company and industry standards.
Collaborate with supply teams across locations to manage and balance packaging inventory.
Manage the identification, removal, and disposal of obsolete or damaged cartons.
Support forecasting efforts with the supply manager using sales trends and production data.
Work closely with the sales team to stay ahead of new products and packaging needs.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase visibility into packaging inventory.
