We have an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support Raytheon’s three sites in Huntsville, AL. This position offers the EH&S professional an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, fostering employee engagement and driving risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.

Requirements

  • Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience
  • Experience providing EHS training to internal and/or external stakeholders
  • Experience working with OSHA and / or EPA standards in a military or civilian environment
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience managing EH&S program implementation
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Project management and execution skills
  • Ability to prioritize and provide timely support for multiple customers, requests and projects
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to seek additional information from supervisors or peers so tasks can be completed on time and correctly
  • Experience with Electrical Safety, LOTO and Fall Protection
  • Knowledge of 4145.26 DOD Explosives Operations

Responsibilities

  • Working with employees in office, engineering and high hazard manufacturing environments you’ll focus on overall job hazard analyses (including explosives) as well as recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions.
  • Identifying environmental risk and supporting the sites’ environmental compliance programs, such as hazardous waste management.
  • Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
  • Partnering with site POCs and EH&S subject matter experts to assure compliance including appropriate documentation to prove alignment with federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
  • Executing initiatives, programs, reports and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
  • Investigating, analyzing and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses, and ensuring corrective actions are completed on time.
  • Auditing and evaluating current policies, procedures, and documentation to assure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Interacting with employees of all levels, promoting relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and becoming known as a resource to the employees at the Huntsville sites.
  • Investigating, analyzing, and interpreting data from injuries and near-misses ensuring corrective actions are completed on time, and all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
  • Developing and implementing sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals.
  • Leading and developing a high-performance team to ensure site goals and objectives are met.
