The enterprise master patient index (EMPI) is a critical business function and patient safety resource; it links a patient to demographics, clinical and financial information. The EMPI must contain accurate, timely, and complete data which supports the assignment of a single, unique identifier (EUID) to each patient registered within the Stony Brook Medicine health system. The EMPI Data Integrity Manager (DIM), reporting to the Director of Patient Access Services, will be responsible for identifying cross system patient matches across the enterprise. Using analytical and investigational skills, the EMPI DIM will employ various system resources to validate patient identity and independently determining action needed to remediate duplicate medical records and demographic discrepancies. Qualified candidates will demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge and understanding of patient care and effectively make decisions based on ethical principles and adhering to our high standard of excellence.
