About The Position

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing engineering team focused on building and operating secure, scalable, and highly available identity and access management (IAM) systems. The Manager, Engineering will oversee the design and implementation of authentication, authorization, and identity services that support the organization’s entire technology ecosystem. You will combine technical leadership with people management, mentoring engineers while shaping the technical roadmap for modern identity solutions. The position requires hands-on expertise in IAM protocols and frameworks, as well as the ability to drive strategic initiatives across multiple teams. You will influence architecture, operational reliability, and security best practices, all while enabling seamless and secure user experiences. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on high-scale backend systems.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and leading software engineering teams.
  • Deep expertise in Identity and Access Management (IAM), including hands-on experience with SAML, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and modern authentication/authorization frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices, cryptography, and web application vulnerabilities related to identity (e.g., token manipulation, session hijacking).
  • Experience with cloud identity platforms (e.g., AWS IAM, Azure AD, Okta, Auth0) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Go, Java, Ruby, Node.js) and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver large, complex projects and mentor engineers effectively in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, development, and operation of core IAM services including user registration, login, profile management, multi-factor authentication, and authorization frameworks.
  • Define and refine team processes, development methodologies, and quality standards to ensure efficient delivery of robust, secure solutions.
  • Drive adoption and maintenance of industry-standard identity protocols such as SAML, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and secure inter-service authentication mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and product teams to ensure IAM services meet stringent requirements for reliability, scalability, and latency.
  • Serve as the technical escalation point for IAM issues and lead architectural decisions that align with enterprise-wide security goals.
  • Remove blockers, manage risks, and facilitate effective cross-team communication to deliver complex projects successfully.
