About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Manager, Environmental Systems. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Summary: The Manager, Environmental Systems, is responsible for ensuring environmental compliance and driving performance improvements for the organization. This role oversees regulatory programs related to air, water, waste, and hazardous materials, while managing environmental data systems, audits, and reporting obligations. The manager collaborates closely with operations, engineering, and EHS teams to integrate environmental best practices into daily processes and long-term projects. This role plays a key role in minimizing environmental risk, supporting sustainability goals, and maintaining a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or occupational safety/EHS, or related field and 4+ years related experience or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hazardous Waste and DOT Training certifications (RCRA, DOT) required.

  • Forklift operator’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support ISO 14001 processes, including audits, corrective actions, documentation, and management reviews
  • Lead environmental regulatory compliance for air, water, waste, and chemical programs, including but not limited to ensuring compliance with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), and Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) regulations
  • Complete required federal, state, local, and international reporting (e.g. TRI, Tier II, hazardous waste, EU- REACH, K-REACH, K-OSHA, China REACH, Japan CSCL, ISHL, Taiwan TSCI)
  • Maintain environmental permits (air, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste) and ensure compliance with permit conditions; support permit renewals or modifications.
  • Maintain SDS databases and hazardous materials documentation
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of domestic and international environmental reporting obligations
  • Conduct or support environmental impact assessments for new or modified processes
  • Perform routine inspections, internal audits, and thirdparty audit coordination; track findings and implement corrective actions
  • Maintain current environmental permits (air, stormwater, wastewater, hazardous waste, etc.), ensure permit conditions are met, and assist in preparing applications for permit renewals or modifications; track and manage permit limits and associated monitoring data
  • Maintain compliance with international chemical inventory (REACH – including EU-REACH, K-REACH, and China REACH) compliance
  • Collect, validate, and analyze environmental data (emissions, chemical usage, effluent quality); identify trends and support root-cause investigations
  • Deliver environmental training (e.g., hazardous waste, spill response) and promote environmental stewardship across all sites
  • Evaluate product compliance with customer environmental requirements
  • Oversee waste management activities, including segregation, labeling, disposal, and vendor oversight; recommend waste reduction opportunities
  • Participate in emergency response planning and serve as environmental lead during spill incidents
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, facilities, and other internal stakeholders to integrate environmental considerations into projects and MOC reviews
  • Support continuous improvement and sustainability initiatives within the environmental management system
  • Represent the company in environmental interactions with customers, community representatives, and regulatory agencies (as delegated)
