About The Position

The Facilities Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of facility operations for JELD‑WEN’s Charlotte headquarters, ensuring a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained work environment that supports organizational productivity and aligns with JELD‑WEN’s brand, culture, and operational goals. This role is responsible for building operations, maintenance, space planning, vendor management, workplace experience, and compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of facilities or property management experience in an office or corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing building systems and maintenance programs.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting a multi‑story corporate headquarters environment.
  • Certification in facilities management (e.g., IFMA CFM, FMP, BOMA RPA).
  • Experience with sustainability initiatives or LEED‑aligned practices.
  • Familiarity with workplace technology systems (e.g., access control, BMS, CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of a multi‑story, Class‑A office headquarters environment.
  • Manage maintenance of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life‑safety, security, and access controls.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment life cycles.
  • Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and capital improvement projects with minimal disruption to employees.
  • Source, negotiate, and manage third‑party vendors including janitorial, security, landscaping, mechanical services, and general contractors.
  • Monitor service quality, SLAs, and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure competitive bidding and cost‑effective selection of facility vendors.
  • Manage office layout, seating assignments, and space utilization in partnership with HR, IT, and department leaders.
  • Support workplace strategies that enhance collaboration and employee engagement.
  • Oversee conference room technology, office equipment, and common areas to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, building codes, environmental regulations, and corporate standards.
  • Lead emergency preparedness efforts including evacuation plans, drills, and training.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections to identify risks and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Develop and manage the facility operations budget including maintenance, utilities, capital projects, and vendor costs.
  • Track expenditures, forecast needs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
  • Implement energy‑efficient practices and sustainability initiatives aligned with JELD‑WEN’s environmental goals.
  • Monitor building performance metrics such as energy usage, water consumption, and waste management.
  • Partner with executive leadership, HR, IT, Security, and Communications on facility‑related initiatives.
  • Lead on‑site staff, contractors, and support teams to maintain a high‑quality work environment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for facility‑related inquiries and issues across the headquarters.
