About the Role Company : Wellington Management Company LLP Location : 280 Congress Street, Boston, MA 02210 Position Title : Manager, Finance & Administration Job Description : Lead the team responsible for solutions in Workday Financials, HCM, and Payroll. Coverage includes Financial Accounting, Supplier Accounts, Expenses, Procurement, and Projects, as well as Talent Management, Benefits Administration, Recruiting, Time Tracking, and Payroll. Responsibilities include: Collaborating with the senior managers of Finance and Human Resources organizations to set and implement the firm’s strategy on Workday Working closely with managers to understand all business challenges/opportunities and design solutions. This critically includes keeping up to date on all new Workday features and recommending their implementation/adoption Understanding business needs, prioritizing, and allocating resources to the collective book of work spanning a dozen functions across the Finance and HR organizations Managing Wellington’s relationship with the vendor (Workday) Managing Wellington’s relationship with Workday partner organizations for supplemental consultant support and holding them accountable to their SOWs, plus onboarding/offboarding and managing these consultants on Wellington’s network to complete all agreed-to work in the SOWs Managing the career development, performance reviews, and compensation considerations for team members Defining and implementing the constructs for the team to execute support/enhancements work and to track and report progress Creating the training paths and encouraging/empowering business users across Finance and HR organizations to develop their own Workday configuration and reporting skills Ensuring all security permissions and permission-related strategies are appropriate to keeping our data secure, including accountability to all internal and external audit requests/requirements Ensuring team responds to and communicates all system upgrades/maintenance, tenant refreshes, and application issue resolution, as well as holding vendor (Workday) accountable to the SLA Position is fixed location based in Boston office, however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field plus eight (8) years of experience in a systems role implementing solutions in Finance and HR departments on Workday or another comparable ERP application.
  • Leading and mentoring a team, including remote members, and the ability to allocate and direct the work of limited resources effectively
  • Demonstratable expertise in Workday Financials by producing configuration and reporting that is accurate and comprehensive and with an expected turnaround in the following areas: Financial Accounting, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Projects/Capital Projects, Expenses, Banking and Settlement, and Financial Reporting
  • Workday Payroll and HCM modules
  • Accounting practices
  • Workday matrix reporting, calculated fields, and advanced reports
  • Workday security administration
  • Working directly with senior business management to define and implement a strategic roadmap
  • Employer will accept ten (10) years of experience in a systems role implementing solutions in Finance and HR departments on Workday and another ERP application in lieu of a bachelor’s degree plus eight (8) years of experience.
