About The Position

The Manager, Global IT SOX plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of Walmart’s financial reporting by providing independent oversight of IT controls within a global environment. This hybrid leadership role combines people management with hands-on execution of complex SOX activities, offering the opportunity to influence control strategy, partner with cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute directly to enterprise risk management and compliance excellence. Global Internal Controls operates as the second line of defense within Finance, focused on strengthening risk management and ensuring compliance with SOX requirements across Walmart’s global technology landscape. The team partners closely with Technology, Product, and business stakeholders to assess, monitor, and enhance IT controls, playing a key role in supporting the company’s annual audit and financial reporting processes.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in IT SOX, IT audit, or internal audit with hands-on responsibility for ITGC assessments, walkthroughs, and control operating effectiveness testing
• Strong knowledge of PCAOB standards, SOX requirements, and control evaluation methodologies within complex, technology-driven environments
• Ability to analyze system architectures, identify risks, and assess control design and effectiveness across integrated systems and dependencies
• Experience reviewing work and providing guidance or oversight to junior team members, with a focus on quality and development
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3 years’ experience in public accounting, internal audit, IT audit, or a related industry role supporting SOX and ITGCs
• Experience supporting ITGC assessments, SOX audits, and control operating effectiveness reviews.
• Experience in PCAOB standards, SOX requirements, and IT general controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute complex IT SOX activities, including walkthroughs, control design evaluations, and operating effectiveness testing across in-scope systems and IT dependencies
• Review and approve work performed by Senior Analysts, providing coaching and direction to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established IT SOX standards
• Support internal and external audit processes by coordinating walkthroughs, responding to audit requests, and ensuring timely, accurate, and complete documentation and evidence
• Partner with Global Technology, Product, and Finance stakeholders to assess IT risks, evaluate control design, and support remediation of identified control deficiencies
• Monitor the ongoing effectiveness of ITGCs and related controls, identify potential gaps or inconsistencies, and maintain accurate SOX documentation in systems of record
