About The Position

The Senior Logistics manager is responsible for all global transportation operations across Plug Power businesses. Devises and implements dynamic plans, budgets, and schedules in response to business unit requirements and changes. Monitor work progress of logistics leadership team assigned to tasks to ensure milestones are met. Establishing relationships with providers to ensure that they provide high-quality products and services at competitive prices. Evaluating market conditions to determine trends that will impact future business needs. Creating budgets and monitoring expenses to ensure that they are within approved limits. Set up a continuous improvement approach to logistic operations globally; responsible for business continuity, including creation of mitigation plans. Design and implement sustainability initiatives and lead the way on driving best in class sustainable global logistics practices. A proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environments, while delivering quality work to tight deadlines, is highly valued.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, graduate certificate or higher in supply chain management, business, or relevant field of study; will consider experience in lieu of degree requirement.
  • 5 years or more of Logistics, Purchasing, Materials, Training, Sales, or related experience within a Supply Chain setting is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership abilities.
  • Must be capable of working independently, in a fast-paced environment, with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Superior communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software including highly developed skills within Excel, and Project Management.
  • Ability to manage projects and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to role model high standards of professionalism.
  • Excellent follow-through.
  • Must be driven and self-motivated.
  • Must possess the highest ethical standards and a supreme commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day Global Logistics operations and act as escalation point for all external transportation challenges.
  • Support Global Logistics needs and develop guidance through uniform procedures.
  • Set out a succession and development plan for Global Logistics Team that encourages investment in skills, the evolution of capabilities and recognizing competencies and talent for the function.
  • Represent and contribute on behalf of the logistics function when the organization engages in strategic projects, business ventures or seeks to expand into emerging and new markets.
  • Import/Export compliance.
  • Freight Payables.
  • Drive continuous improvement, measured by KPI’s for: Safety & Compliance. On-Time Delivery & Quality. Logistics Cost as a Percentage of Material Cost. Freight Cost Reduction Year of Year Reduction. Onboarding & Training Coordination.
  • Build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships; communicate regularly to maintain an understanding of timelines and activities which impact supply chain.
  • Travel to Plug facilities, suppliers, warehouse locations as necessary to conduct Global Logistics operations support. training & conferences (Digital Communication Acceptable).
  • Always represent Plug Power in a professional manner and in all interactions.
  • Identify and act on continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
