About The Position

The Manager will be responsible for the leadership and oversight of team leaders whose teams perform duties such as: Network Administration Analyzing and administering the technical architecture of Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) Researching, testing, evaluating, and recommending telecommunications and data network systems Analyzing workload, including traffic and utilization trends Interfacing with users, consultants, technical teams, and vendors to determine the most appropriate hardware installations Supporting complex PCs and LAN/WAN networks throughout the organization Demonstrating advanced knowledge and experience in local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware/software Identifying areas of operation requiring upgraded equipment, such as modems, fiber optic cables, and telephone wires Conducting surveys to determine user needs and reading technical manuals to identify equipment that meets requirements Visiting vendors to learn about available products or services and testing/evaluating hardware/software for efficiency, reliability, and compatibility Analyzing test data and recommending hardware or software for purchase Developing and writing procedures for installation, use, and troubleshooting of communications hardware/software Monitoring system performance, instructing users in equipment use, and assisting in solving data communication problems Designing and developing complex software interface programs and writing technical specifications for vendor bids Overseeing or assisting in the installation of communications hardware and performing minor equipment repairs Reviewing ticket queues assigned to the team and creating network documentation, including diagrams and port density lists Performing IAVA STIG checklists to mitigate findings/errors on network assets Conducting routine system and diagnostic checks on network and supporting systems Performing configuration changes to network devices under supervisor guidance Operating, maintaining, securing, and updating enterprise VoIP and VTC systems to ensure system integrity and security Configuring, patching, and scanning systems to maintain high availability and optimal performance Responding to incident tickets, service requests, and restoration of services, as well as processing requests for change Maintaining documentation of server/system characteristics, physical/logical capability diagrams, and security policies/settings Notifying the Government of any "critical" or "high" incidents impacting critical systems and services Troubleshooting, repairing, and recommending changes to VoIP and VTC infrastructure to ensure robust and sustainable systems Performing availability and performance monitoring, including trend analysis to assess service quality Employing best business practices to provide secure, standardized, and scalable VoIP and VTC systems NSV Tools Administration Administering multiple network monitoring applications, including Broadcom Spectrum, RSA, and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Managing Spectrum for network performance monitoring and administering RSA and Cisco ISE for network security and access control Acting as a key interface between users and technical teams for application use and account creation NSV Proxy Administration Administering Bluecoat Proxies to manage and secure network infrastructure Configuring proxies to enforce web access policies, filter traffic, and protect organizational and customer networks Administering the Menlo security platform for secure browsing and malware prevention Managing SSL certificates for customer sites and troubleshooting proxy and Menlo-related issues Systems Administration Administering, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining operating systems and related software Establishing and implementing standards for computer operations to ensure compatibility between hardware and software Troubleshooting and resolving software, operating system, and networking problems Scheduling, performing, and monitoring system backups and conducting data recovery when necessary Recommending hardware/software upgrades based on growth statistics and disk space forecasts Scheduling and performing system upgrades, including transitioning from test to production environments Configuring hardware such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices Providing technical support for system users Protected DNS Administration Administering and maintaining Protected DNS for ARMY.MIL and ARMY.SMIL.MIL domains in support of Army LandWarNet in CONUS Managing TIER 0, TIER 1, and TIER 2 Name Servers on NIPRNET and SIPRNET using INFOBLOX appliances Performing tasks such as adding, deleting, and modifying DNS records (A, PTR, MX, CNAME, NS) Administering domain delegations, IP space assignments, and network registrations within ARMY.MIL and ARMY.SMIL.MIL domains Reviewing EP-DNS documentation for accuracy and completeness Analyzing, troubleshooting, and isolating complex network hardware/software problems using Windows and UNIX operating systems Monitoring system health and applying corrective actions as required Modifying hardware/software configurations based on mission and resource allocation requirements Maintaining ARMY.MIL’s NIC records, managing RPZs (Response Policy Zones), and performing INFOBLOX configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and installations This role requires a highly technical and detail-oriented individual capable of managing complex network systems admins, ensuring security, and maintaining optimal performance across various platforms and applications. Individual must be confident interacting with contract and government high-level leadership.
