This role will be Hybrid out of our St Louis area office Position Summary The Manager of Integrations leads the Integrations team responsible for the design, delivery, and ongoing support of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), middleware, and system integration solutions across the enterprise. This role provides people leadership for a team of analysts/engineers, while also owning overall service health, application managed support of incidents & enhancements, and project execution within the integrations landscape. The role ensures reliable, scalable, and secure integration solutions between SAP environments, non-SAP systems, and external business partners. This role requires a balance of technical leadership, people management, and operational oversight. The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, architecture, and external vendors to define integration strategy, prioritize work, and ensure solutions meet business needs. The Manager of Integrations is accountable for middleware application stability, delivery quality, and continuous improvement of integration platforms and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 5 or more years of relevant management work experience
  • Proven experience leading and developing technical teams, including performance management, coaching, and workforce planning
  • Experience managing internal and external support teams, including SLA oversight & service quality management
  • Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities, escalations, and service pressures in a production environment
  • Experience with some or all middleware applications: IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and Axway B2Bi, SAP PO, and Redwood RMJ
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business ‑ relevant terms
  • Strong organizational and project/service management skills in complex, cross ‑ functional environments
  • Ability to perform with little direction and engage remote team members in other locations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with different XML standards and schemas
  • Knowledge of SAP Idocs and transactions, RFC and batch definitions a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end ‑ to ‑ end integration lifecycle: intake, design, build, test, deploy, operate, optimize, and retire
  • Serve as the primary IT owner for integration vendors, middleware providers, and B2B/EDI partners
  • Maintain an inventory of integrations (interfaces, partners, APIs, EDI flows) including ownership, criticality, and dependencies
  • Prioritize integration demand and manage team capacity across incidents, enhancements & projects
  • Define and maintain the enterprise integration strategy, including API ‑ led, event ‑ driven, EDI, and middleware patterns
  • Own integration standards, including naming conventions, error ‑ handling patterns, security models, and versioning approaches
  • Ensure integration approaches comply with internal (enterprise architecture, cloud strategy, etc.) and external (data security, privacy, and regulatory) requirements
  • Establish and enforce integration governance, including design reviews, documentation standards, and approval checkpoints
  • Identify and manage integration risks, including single points of failure, partner dependencies, and data quality issues
  • Partner with security and infrastructure teams on access control, certificate management, and secure connectivity
  • Support change management and release coordination for integrations impacting multiple teams or partners
  • Ensure adequate documentation, knowledge transfer, and training for support teams and downstream consumers
  • Coordinate onboarding, testing, and certification of new trading partners
  • Provide day ‑ to ‑ day people leadership for a team of integration analysts and engineers, including goal setting, performance management, coaching, and career development
  • Provide functional and operational oversight of the AMS integration support team
  • Manage vendor performance, SLAs, escalation paths, and roadmap alignment
  • Lead escalation management for critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication to stakeholders
  • Communicate integration changes, outages, and roadmap updates to business and IT stakeholders
  • Monitor performance trends and proactively address scalability or reliability concerns
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including modernization, automation, and technical debt reduction
  • Regularly assess new integration technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate
  • Foster strong collaboration between internal teams, AMS providers, and business stakeholders
