About The Position

The National Sales Manager – On-Site will work in conjunction with the Regional, Local, and National sales leadership teams to develop new growth business within their assigned sales territory. The incumbent will analyze profitability of prospects, specifically for prospects that are On-Site Maintenance opportunities. It is their responsibility to educate and develop the prospects' value proposition of Ryder's services (Choice Lease, Select Care, Programmed Maintenance – On-Site, Lease Financing, Dedicated Contract Carriage, and Insurance). As a liaison between sales and operations, this role will help our sales team analyze profitability of prospects and fully understand the competitive influences and risks with each account. The purpose of this position is to develop lead generation and initial prospect vetting for profitable growth business, meet or exceed assigned quotas for revenue and new accounts, and successfully transition new business to the account relationship team (DBD/DNA).   • Bachelor's Degree in in business, transportation or equivalent field., Required
  • 5 years or more in demonstrated operational and/or sales excellence with customer facing roles., Required
  • 5 years or more in at the Ryder BU level or similar., Required
  • Good understanding of maintenance/operations. Beginner, Required
  • Good understanding of Ryder Sales Process. Intermediate, Required
  • PC Skills, including Microsoft Office. Intermediate, Required
  • Knowledge of industry leaders, terms, policies, and On-site structures. Intermediate, Required
  • Travel - Greater than 50%

Responsibilities

  • Sales Activity: Pro-actively develop new lead generation and development.
  • Develop pre-sales strategy for the target accounts.
  • Develop a sales activity pipeline sufficient to meet and exceed required quota revenues.
  • Represent full spectrum of Ryder services.
  • Work with DNAs and NCAs to transition accounts and increase sales opportunities, as required.
  • Work with National Sales to develop and/or assist in generating sales opportunities within assigned geography.
  • Help with development of Pro-Forma for On-site.
  • Account Planning: Identify prospect needs/ requirements and value components through quality needs.
  • Assessment and value-based proposal preparation.
  • Develop account selling strategies on a continual basis to improve effectiveness.
  • Contribute to an effective transition of accounts sold.
  • Properly utilize SFDC for planning.
  • Communications: Report sales activity to management.
  • Sales protocol and SFDC compliance activities.
  • Create supportive working relationships with BU's.
  • Leverage all resources to expand new opportunities.
  • Develop account profile information on all prospect solicitations.
  • Training and improvement of sales skills, industry knowledge and personal growth needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
