About The Position

The Manager of Commercial Fleet Maintenance is responsible for overseeing the company’s fleet of non-revenue commercial vehicles to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations. This role manages vehicle maintenance, regulatory compliance, driver coordination, and fleet performance while minimizing downtime and operating costs. Salary range: $90,000-$115,000

  • Knowledge of preventable maintenance and fleet life cycle management

Responsibilities

  • Fleet Operations Management Manage daily operations for a fleet of approximately 675 commercial vehicles, including trucks, vans, cars, and specialty vehicles.
  • Ensure high fleet availability through preventative maintenance and operational planning.
  • Monitor fleet performance and implement strategies to maximize asset uptime.
  • Develop and manage KPI’s.
  • Maintenance and Asset Management Oversee preventative maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns and ensure or extend maximum useful life of assets.
  • Coordinate vehicle repairs, inspections, and service schedules with internal personnel and external repair facilities and third-party management.
  • Manage vehicle planning, including acquiring, rotating, and disposal of vehicles in collaboration with finance and procurement teams.
  • Compliance and Safety Ensure full compliance with all state and federal DOT and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records for inspections, licenses, insurance and vehicle documentation.
  • Implement safety improvement initiatives Develop driver safety policy and training initiatives.
  • Financial and Cost Management Partner with Finance teams to support budget and financial reviews for the maintenance costs of the fleet.
  • Technology Management Utilize fleet management software for telematics, GPS tracking, fuel and maintenance management.
  • Ensure compliance with client contract(s) with required data in the enterprise asset management system.
  • Participate in future technology solutions to increase visibility and operational efficiency.
