Manager of Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain Reports to: Director of Operations Direct Reports: 5 Department: Factory Overhead (474000) FLSA Status: Exempt (salary) Position Summary : The Manager of Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain is a strategic leader responsible for driving the company’s procurement, sourcing, and supplier management initiatives. This role oversees the acquisition of materials, manages supplier relationships, negotiates high-value contracts, and leads outsourcing efforts to optimize cost, quality, and production flexibility. The Manager of Strategic Sourcing & Supply Chain ensures that purchasing decisions support operational efficiency, production goals, and long-term business growth. This position leads a team of procurement and planning professionals and collaborates closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, and Logistics to implement cost-saving strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, and expand the company’s outsourcing capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain leadership in manufacturing.
  • Proven experience in high-level negotiations, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
  • Demonstrated experience in outsourcing, vendor consolidation, or make-vs-buy analysis.
  • ERP system experience required; experience with Acumatica and Savant a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS/CPIM or equivalent procurement/supply chain certification preferred.
  • Experience in the truck equipment or heavy manufacturing industry preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing and high-value supplier negotiations to achieve cost reductions, improve service levels, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  • Identify and implement outsourcing opportunities to increase production flexibility, reduce costs, and mitigate risk.
  • Develop supplier scorecards, monitor performance metrics, and proactively manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity and quality.
  • Oversee procurement processes, including RFQs, purchase orders, contract management, and supplier agreements.
  • Collaborate with Operations to align sourcing strategies with production schedules, capacity planning, and customer demand.
  • Lead the supply chain team, including the Senior Buyer, Parts Supervisor, and Production Planner, providing coaching and strategic guidance.
  • Maintain visibility of critical inventory and long-lead items to prevent production delays.
  • Partner with Sales during quoting and planning processes to provide lead time estimates, supply insights, and cost information.
  • Drive initiatives to leverage organizational spend across categories and optimize supplier consolidation.
  • Continuously evaluate market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to improve sourcing strategies.
