Flipp's Performance Marketing team applies data analytics and insights to optimize advertising and marketing strategies across various media channels for maximum impact and ROI. The leader of the ad operations team is accountable for business execution, yield management, and team growth. They translate & refine vision into executable strategy & tactics for the performance marketing team. This role leads Flipp's internal media agency, positioning it as the external facing media science expert for strategic planning and ad operations execution. Operating at both a strategic and tactical level, this role works closely with direct reports to manage projects, deliver results, take action through insight, and improve platform capability and process.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of digital media campaign management experience, preferably with exposure to retail/CPG.
  • 1+ years managing a digital media execution or planning team, in an innovative environment
  • Strong project and process management skills.
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in data tools and software (e.g., Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Provide clarity of context, options and solutions to product and analytics team on the future development of digital media, market feedback and insight to drive Flipp’s product team to innovate down the right path for Flipp to maintain and grow our market advantage in digital shopping experiences.
  • Develop Revenue & Efficiency Targets tied to value added team responsibilities.
  • Build and lead a team of high performance digital media specialists to execute campaigns to reach KPI beyond industry norm
  • Translate and refine business objectives to actionable team and individual goals, secure alignment and commitment from team and drive performance to hit objectives
  • Developing individual growth plans, identify and evaluate competencies to provide fulfilling career development that advances contribution of the individual to the team
  • Leading prioritization of projects, assessing impact vs effort and provide direction to team
  • Providing guidance on project management and resolution of risk and removing roadblocks
  • Educate and enable internal Flipp teams to better position Flipp digital media to drive business forward, examples may include pitch decks, case studies, knowledge base and training sessions
  • Build relationships with publishers and technology vendors (Google, Postmedia, Gannet, Contobox etc…)
  • Establish trusted advisory relationship with internal Flipp sales team and external clients to help them best utilize Flipp media capability
  • Build strategic and tactical plans to help our clients reach their KPI and demonstrate value to drive Flipp’s business forward together with our BD team
  • Work with sales and finance teams to optimize media pipeline, campaign timing, pricing, effort/reward, margin optimization
  • Build a framework and evaluation process for understanding pricing yields of products Flipp offer off app
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (sales, product, data/eng, revenue) to ensure optimization of revenue opportunities
  • Provide and guide Flipp on pricing recommendations for off app products
  • Build a roadmap for product margin enhancement through rate or mix
  • Provide deeper context and facilitate discussion to help the team overcome issues. Cross-collaboration between media science, development, product and external teams to identify opportunities for improvement and troubleshoot problems on campaign performance or inefficiencies
  • Build and improve operational processes, tooling and human resources so we achieve more with any given unit of resourcing
  • Improve ways of working across teams to unblock and enable team. Represent the needs of this team and provide business context to dependencies to help them properly prioritize requests
