About The Position

Otter Tail Power Company is seeking an experienced and strategic Manager, Project Portfolio to lead and optimize a diverse portfolio of transmission and infrastructure projects. This role provides leadership and direction to a team of Project Managers, ensuring projects align with organizational goals and are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory, financial, and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred, and bring at least eight years of progressive project management experience— including three or more years leading teams or managing project portfolios. Candidates should demonstrate advanced knowledge of project and portfolio management methodologies, transmission and substation construction, permitting, and regulatory processes, along with strong financial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. A proven ability to oversee multiple concurrent utility or infrastructure projects, interpret and negotiate complex contracts, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders is essential. The successful candidate will display strong leadership capabilities by mentoring project management professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, and accountability, and driving continuous improvement across the portfolio. Professional certifications such as PfMP are preferred, and travel within the service territory may be required. Competitive wage & benefit package. The expected base compensation for this role is $121,000 to $152,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field
