About The Position

Job Summary The Manager – Laboratory Technician serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in laboratory testing procedures for product performance and reliability. The role focuses on applying industry standards in testing and analysis, supporting product qualification, and ensuring high-quality execution of lab operations. The associate performs hands-on testing, creates supporting documentation, and provides technical expertise in lab processes. What You'll Do Perform physical, mechanical, and performance testing on products and components using standardized test methods. Interpret and apply industry testing standards to ensure product compliance and safety. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring instruments are performing within specification. Record, analyze, and report on test results with high accuracy and traceability. Serve as the technical expert on testing protocols, equipment preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Merchant, Quality, and Sourcing teams to align on testing needs. Support documentation for audits, product certifications, and internal quality reviews. Uphold lab safety protocols and contribute to continuous improvement in lab operations.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, etc.)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in product or material testing labs
  • Experience applying industry standards in a QA or compliance setting
  • Strong working knowledge of lab equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to interpret test specifications and document detailed, technical test results
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (for example, materials science, mechanical engineering, chemistry) and 3 years’ hands-on experience in product or material testing labs.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in laboratory testing, quality assurance, or compliance.
  • Experience applying industry standards in a quality assurance or compliance setting.
  • Experience in lab equipment operation, calibration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience interpreting test specifications and documenting detailed, technical test results.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in consumer product compliance, furniture, general merchandise, or similar industries
  • Familiarity with Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS), SharePoint, or digital QA tools
  • Exposure to third-party certification processes or internal audit support

  • The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00
