About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Reimbursement, provides support to the Department by managing an effective, efficient, and regulatorily compliant workflow for preparing the Medicare cost report and Florida Hospital Uniform Reporting Standards (FHURS) annual submission, and all related government audits & reviews. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. Essential Functions: The Manager ensures the processes are supported by published regulatory changes for federal & state payment methodologies and private commercial payors where applicable. The Manager has administrative responsibility for hospital alternative payment systems which include, but are not limited to, Medicare organ acquisition cost-based reimbursement, Bundled Payment for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI-A), commercial payor bundled payment arrangements, and intergovernmental transfer (IGT) accounting. Manager has direct supervision of any staff assigned either permanently or temporarily to aforementioned alternative payment systems. Manager ensures appropriate work papers are in place to support general ledger, balance sheet recordings, and audit functions as defined by departmental policies and procedures. Manager ensures appropriate support for Medicare and Medicaid GME programs is documented. Manager ensures Medicare & Medicaid enrollments are up to date and updated/revalidated as needed. Manager ensures hospital licenses are up to date and revised/renewed as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or other related field.
  • Minimum 5 (five) years hospital finance + reimbursement experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
  • Significant software/computer experience necessary including financial spreadsheet/database applications.
  • Supervisory and project skills.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicare programs including LIP, GME, supplemental payments.
  • Responsible for governmental filings for Tampa General Rehabilitation and Tampa General Behavioral Health Hospitals.
