KBF is currently seeking a Manager to join our Sales and Use Tax team. The KBF Sales and Use Tax group offers a comprehensive range of services designed to support our client’s growth and expansion. Our services and projects are tailored to meet our clients' needs. Services include multistate expansion analysis, income/sales tax nexus analysis and planning, income/sales tax compliance, and representation in examinations. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university
  • Must hold one of the following credentials: Licensed CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), Certified Member of the Institute (CMI), Juris Doctor (JD), or Master of Laws (LLM)
  • Minimum of 5 years of tax experience in public accounting with a focus on Sales and Use Tax
  • Motivated, quick learner with strong communication skills and demonstrated professionalism
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Manage and review sales and use tax return preparation and filings across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Oversee the monthly/quarterly compliance process, including reconciliations, data validation, and issue resolution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on compliance-related matters, including notices, filings, and routine questions
  • Support limited consulting projects such as nexus reviews or voluntary disclosures, as needed
  • Manage and mentor staff, reviewing work for accuracy and providing guidance on technical and process-related questions
  • Coordinate and manage sales and use tax audits, including responding to notices and working with state authorities
  • Ensure proper application of sales and use tax rules in day-to-day compliance; perform targeted research as needed
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices to increase efficiency and reduce risk
  • Monitor changes in state and local tax regulations and ensure compliance processes are updated accordingly
