A Day in the Life of the The Manager, Strategic Programs – Paid Media is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and ongoing optimization of all paid media channels, including search, social, display, video, affiliate, direct mail, and emerging performance platforms. This role oversees a multi‑million‑dollar performance media budget and is accountable for driving efficient, scalable customer acquisition across residential and new market segments. This position partners closely with eCommerce, Analytics, Finance, Brand, Creative, and agency teams to deliver measurable growth while continuously improving media efficiency, attribution accuracy, and overall campaign performance. The role provides executive‑level performance reporting and insights to guide strategic decision‑making.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years managing paid media in telecom, subscription, or high-volume acquisition businesses.
  • 3+ years with testing in paid media or digital marketing.
  • 3-5 years of marketing analytics, performance analytics, or data analysis.
  • Experience working with paid media datasets, forecasting, and performance modeling required.
  • 3-5 years of data reporting & visualization (Looker, Tableau, Alteryx, GA4, BigQuery, etc).
  • 3-5 years in digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn Ads, programmatic platforms, etc.).
  • Expertise leading full-funnel marketing efforts and strategy.
  • Proven ability to scale acquisition efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Major in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, or related fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with CRM and DMP platforms, as well as digital advertising tools, is preferred.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to automate or enhance analytical workflows is preferred.
  • Experience managing $10M+ performance budgets preferred.
  • Experience in agency or telecommunications environments is a plus.
  • MBA, advanced degree, or digital certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Owns digital paid media strategy across: Paid Search (Brand + Non-Brand), Paid Social, Programmatic Display & Video, Affiliate Marketing, and Retargeting & Performance Partnerships.
  • Aligns direct mail strategy.
  • Manages annual and quarterly media budgets.
  • Forecasts subscriber acquisition, CAC, and ROI performance.
  • Optimizes channel mix to maximize sales and ARPU growth.
  • Leads always-on and promotional media programs (in coordination with campaign managers).
  • Develops testing strategy.
  • Drives aggressive retargeting and high-yield escalation strategies.
  • Devises advanced segmentation strategies for emerging and high-performing audiences.
  • Partner with marketing analytics to improve tracking accuracy and reporting rigor.
  • Own channel-level CAC, ROAS, LTV: CAC, and conversion rate performance.
  • Ensure clean documentation and performance dashboards.
  • Improve attribution across paid media and eCommerce.
  • Expand and optimize online affiliate program.
  • Evaluate new performance partnerships.
  • Negotiate terms and performance structures.
