About The Position

The Supply Chain Logistics Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and compliant procurement, management, and delivery of materials, components, and services essential to X-energy's reactor development and deployment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related technical field is required.
  • The skills required for this role are typically demonstrated by 10 plus years of relevant experience.
  • Eight plus years Nuclear Engineering experience.
  • Five plus years of experience in civil structure design in the nuclear industry, or 10 plus years civil structure design experience for power generation or industrial process facilities.
  • A basic understanding of the nuclear regulatory process related to civil and structural designs is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive Global Supply Chain Logistics strategies to support X-energy's reactor development, manufacturing, and deployment objectives
  • Architect and establish a comprehensive logistics department from inception, encompassing all critical transportation modalities required for nuclear and non-nuclear component movement: ocean freight, air cargo, barge transport, over-the-road (OTR) asset-based carriers, and small package delivery services
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with specialized carriers capable of handling some nuclear-grade materials and components, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety protocols
  • Evaluate, bid, select, and seamlessly integrate third-party logistics (3PL) providers into X-energy's supply chain network, optimizing reliability, cost-effectiveness, and specialized handling capabilities
  • Develop standardized operating procedures (SOPs) for the movement of sensitive nuclear components, including specialized packaging, security protocols, and chain-of-custody documentation
  • Implement advanced transportation management systems (TMS) that provide real-time visibility across all logistics channels while meeting nuclear industry security requirements
  • Design contingency routing and carrier redundancy plans to ensure uninterrupted supply chain operations critical to reactor development timelines
  • Oversee the entire product flow, from sourcing raw materials to delivering finished goods, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and timely delivery by managing suppliers, inventory, warehousing, transportation, and distribution, requiring strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Establish and maintain relationships with qualified suppliers and subcontractors
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with nuclear quality assurance requirements (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, NQA-1, etc.)
  • Implement risk management strategies to address supply chain vulnerabilities and ensure continuity
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and project management teams to align procurement activities with technical requirements
  • Develop and maintain supply chain metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Manage inventory control systems for critical nuclear components and materials
  • Ensure compliance with export control regulations (ITAR, EAR) for nuclear technology
  • Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
