Managing Director, Non-Scripted Content The Role and What You’ll Do: You will report to the CEO of Done and Dusted North America, Melanie Fletcher Responsible for leading the overall operations of D+D USA productions. This role oversees many business functions — spearheading production operations, development, finance, legal, and HR. The MD sets organizational priorities, builds and nurtures strong teams across production, technical, operations, and development. Provides decisive leadership to EP’s, EIC’s & administrative staff and cultivates long-term relationships with key clients, broadcasters & streaming partners, key business partners and teams across the wider Endeavor ecosystem Operations Manage production calendars, resource allocation, and build internal production pipelines. Oversee and take responsibility for project management across each production. Own and manage multi-project financials and budget/track company overhead spending Managing existing processes, systems, and workflows and where improvement can be made to implement new methods. Work with EIC’s to ensure contractual compliance with legal, finance, Insurance, Health and Safety. Act as senior point of escalation and client-facing representative for major productions. Oversee day-to-day company operations including management of the Santa Monica office facilities and amenities. Facilitate local contract management e.g., IATSE, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, AFM, WGA, and IA. Champions the company’s culture and values Pre-Production Collaborate with the legal team to execute Production Services Agreements and Scopes of Work. Engage in client liaison. Facilitate project budgeting including closely monitoring and driving of recoupable staff draw downs. Build project timelines and milestones. Set up productions in Reback Lee systems and work through cash flow schedule approvals. Manage project key hires, production teams, crew, and vendors. Negotiate deals and confirm crew accordingly. Facilitate project onboarding. Liaise with Executive Producers and drive decision making. Day-to-Day Production Manage production teams including Executive producers, EIC’s, Production managers, coordinators, and freelancers Serve as the key production liaison for clients, networks, streaming partners, sponsors, and creative stakeholders. Monitor cost reports, mitigate financial risks, and provide budget updates to executive leadership and clients. Liaise between Production, Legal, Business Affairs, HR, IT, Finance, outside counsel, union and guild representatives, to ensure compliance, standards and practices. Facilitate deal memos and contracts. Facilitate venue relationships, vendor bidding and approval, and post-production. Production Close Down Supervise and manage the closing of any project. Obtain final versions of budgets, ledger, and distribution documents. Resolve estimates to completion. Manage debriefing of meetings, note keeping, and distribute accordingly. Ensure all contract deliverables have been completed. Ensure copies of all key assets are held on D+D servers. New Business Pitch Production Planning including Understanding/Unpacking RFP requirements Procuring freelance resources Budgeting Logistic analysis Location Advancing Legal Coordination – attachment agreements etc. Other Day to Day Operations Review, approve and chase up Amex reconciliation Manage and track multi-million-dollar production budgets across multiple projects. Client & Stakeholder Management Translate creative briefs and client goals into actionable production plans. Lead production meetings and ensure all teams are aligned on expectations, deliverables, and timelines. HR & Culture Manage negotiation process and confirm staff accordingly. Maintain and update all D+D Employee HR documentation, including but not limited to Deal Memos, HR Handbook, and Payroll packets. Manage onboarding of new staff members and ensure smooth integration with the existing team. Freelance data base Attract, develop, and retain top-tier talent across production, technical, creative, and business teams. Foster a collaborative, inclusive, high-performance culture. Oversee HR functions including recruitment, performance management, train Ensure the company remains a sought-after place to work in the live events/broadcast industry. Oversee HR governance and compliance, including Duty of Care and Safeguarding. Manage and mentor production teams including producers, production managers, coordinators, and freelancers Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversee permitting, location agreements, and regulatory paperwork.
