About The Position

The Managing Editorial Assistant provides administrative and project support to the Managing Editorial department and helps coordinate the publishing process from acquisition through publication. This entry-level role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in beginning a career in children’s book publishing.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational and computer skills needed
  • Strong writing, grammatical, and communication skills required
  • Interest in children’s book publishing.

Responsibilities

  • Processing acquisition paperwork received from the Editorial/Business Office
  • Setting up new titles in the title management system, ensuring information is entered accurately.
  • Trafficking various work through the department and updating internal systems.
  • Prepares and distributes weekly, monthly, and seasonal reports.
  • Scheduling and attending various meetings.
  • Interact daily with editorial, design, production, sales, marketing, and legal departments.
